with Full-Mouth Reconstruction
Laying the foundation
Starting with a very comprehensive exam and series of digital x-rays, Dr. Ang takes notes of any gum disease, cavities, decay, tooth wear, cracks, too short or long teeth, root canal issues, and any loose teeth.
Dr. Ang then factors in the aesthetics: the color, size, shape, and proportion of your teeth and how they appear in relation to your lips, gums, mouth, and profile of your face. Every element is scrutinized in order to create a treatment plan that will give you a smile that is both fully functional and beautiful.
The first step in full-mouth reconstruction is to fully treat any gum disease. This is done using the latest laser technology for thorough and gentle treatment.
Having a stable bite is of prime importance in order to have a healthy and pain-free chewing system. Dr. Ang will take a 3D CAT scan of your skull using a CBCT scanning system, which takes digital impressions to make a model of your bite. He puts the model on a dental articular to simulate the real-life movement of your teeth.
If Dr. Ang finds you have a bad bite (i.e. your teeth are not coming together properly), often indicated by issues such as teeth grinding, TMJ pain, and headaches, he will recommend steps to correct it before beginning any treatment.
